Founded in 1999 as a London-based privately owned plc, my client has a rich history in delivering mission-critical core systems to the banking and financial services sector.

They now seek a Senior Pre-Sales Consultant to join their Sales Team based in Croydon. As a key member of their team, you will be required to leverage your business acumen, analysis, and IT skills to win business in the Banking and Financial Services Sector. The primary emphasis will be on Retail Banking, with Treasury and Trade Services also being important aspects.

This is a high-profile, challenging role. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential. Successful candidates will have both technical and business knowledge/experience. This includes engaging with prospective clients, delivering presentations, and business benefit oriented product demonstrations, answering technical questions and responding to RFI’s (Requests for Information) and RFP’s (Requests for Proposal). Candidates will enjoy extensive prospective client involvement, including travel. They will also be instrumental in taking feedback from prospective clients back to the development organisation as part of the Product Management process.
The position will also include working with the Professional Services organisation to ensure a smooth transition of the customer at the implementation phase and also to attend industry events where we are exhibiting, to staff the stand and to demonstrate and evangelise about our software solutions.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

Serve as a banking and financial services expert, performing a leading role in supporting their global sales organisation
Act as a business and technical point of contact for prospective clients with the primary emphasis being on Retail Banking, with Treasury and Trade Services also being important aspects
Offer strong knowledge of the banking and financial services industry to the extent of being perceived as “trusted advisor” to the prospective client
Build and maintain a high-quality demo environment that highlights the business benefits of their solution

Essential Skills & Experience:

You will have over three years experience in similar Pre-Sales roles working for a financial services software company. Candidates with recent Retail Banking experience will have a distinct advantage
A fast learner who is able to grasp a strong understanding of financial instruments and workflow processing developed using SOA architecture
A strong working knowledge of banking systems, SOA, Java and SQL or strong Oracle Database Skills
Prepare and perform product demonstrations including preparation and delivery of marketing material
Determine user requirements; identifying and documenting potential gaps in product functionality and any enhancements required, working closely with Product Management in London assisting in identifying and specifying feasible solutions.
Respond to RFI’s and RFP’s, completing and reviewing Sales Proposals
Provide implementation staff with product information and training required for new and existing client implementations, including information on the full range of features and capabilities, dealing with exceptional circumstances
Proactively help prospective clients develop in-house knowledge and procedures, taking advantage of product functionality and features adding a competitive advantage
Attend industry conferences and shows as required
A proactive team player, professional demeanour and attitude coupled with demonstrable presentation and communication skills
A goal-oriented person who strives to meet targets and budgets
Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the UK, with a valid passport allowing international travel
Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English, with a second language an advantage
